Welcome to Earth & Easel! I’m Shannon Dougherty — an artist, herbalist, and soul seeker rooted in a deep love for the natural world.

My creative journey blends art and herbalism, two passions that allow me to honor and share the beauty, wisdom, and magic of the earth. Whether through a painting, a handmade tincture, or a flower essence blend, everything I create is guided by intuition, nature’s rhythms, and a desire to support emotional, physical and energetic balance.

My artwork is inspired by the earth, its creatures, and the cosmos—expressed through oils, acrylics, soft pastels and mixed media. I also love crafting with a variety of textures and colors, infusing each piece with intention and heart.

As a certified flower essence practitioner through the Appalachian School of Holistic Herbalism and a self-study herbalist, I offer plant-based and vibrational remedies that are gentle yet powerful allies in our healing journeys. My approach is holistic, drawing from my training in massage therapy and current studies in Reiki, always with respect for the body’s innate ability to restore balance.

Originally from Maryland, I’ve called Tennessee home for nearly two decades. When I’m not painting, blending herbs, or managing my fulltime accounting career, you’ll find me relaxing with my two beloved dogs or planning my next travel adventure. 

I gratefully serve as Treasurer on the Board of the Tennessee Herbalists Guild, supporting the herbal community that has has enriched my life in so many ways.
